Macro Trading in Bear Markets

Bear Markets, a Historical Perspective

Here is our new post on bear markets and what really happens in them. Contrary to what most retail traders do when the market shoots upwards the better move is to short the rally. Yes, at some point you will be wrong but with proper risk control you will be right to a far greater extent then you will be wrong by doing this.

Bear markets are a beast but you can still be profitable by trading multiple asset classes and by doing good homework. If you need help finding great risk to reward opportunities feel free to drop us a line at Dave@themacrotrader.com

The Macro Trader and TIPS

A few days ago we entered the TIP ETF as it started to break out of its triangle consolidation. Fundamentally we liked this trade due to the extremely low level of inflation that the TIPS were pricing in for the next five and ten years. In fact TIPS are pricing in inflation of only 1% over the next ten years.

As you can see by the way that TIP has exploded apparently the market agrees that this is a good trade. For more info on this and other great global macro trading strategies go to The Macro Trader
